Prix Osipova — International Virtual Selection 2026

Official Rules

Presentation

The PRIX OSIPOVA – International Virtual Selection 2026 is the official video selection stage of the Prix Osipova, created to select dancers from different countries for the Grand Final in London.

Through the evaluation of the submitted materials, the Artistic Committee will select candidates who demonstrate an artistic level consistent with the standards of the competition. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in the Grand Final in London, alongside candidates from Latin America and Cambridge.

Applications may be submitted from 2 October 2026 to 1 November 2026.

This selection stage is open to candidates born between 9 November 1998 and 7 November 2014.

Up to 15 (fifteen) candidates will be selected to participate in the PRIX OSIPOVA Grand Final, to be held at the Clore Studio, Royal Opera House, London, on 7 and 8 November 2026, where they will have the opportunity to perform before an international jury composed of distinguished figures from the world of dance.

Conceived by Natalia Osipova and Anna Koblova, the PRIX OSIPOVA’s mission is to discover talented artists through a platform of excellence, recognising and providing opportunities to those who distinguish themselves.

Founders

Natalia Osipova and Anna Koblova are the founders and creators of the Prix Osipova.

President

Natalia Osipova is the President of the Prix Osipova. A world-renowned ballet star, she is a Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet in London.

General and Artistic Direction

Anna Koblova is the General and Artistic Director of the Prix Osipova. Together with the President, she oversees and makes decisions regarding the preparation, organisation and delivery of the Competition. The Director acts in accordance with the Regulations approved by the Presidency.

Jury

The Competition Jury is composed of distinguished international figures from the choreographic arts, internationally renowned ballet soloists, directors of leading ballet companies worldwide, acclaimed choreographers, teachers, ballet critics and producers.

1. Application Procedure

1.1. Applications will open at 12:00 on 2 October 2026 (BST – British Summer Time, UTC+1) and close at 23:59 on 1 November 2026 (GMT – Greenwich Mean Time, UTC+0).

1.2. A) In the Junior Category, dancers who are at least 12 (twelve) years old by 8 November 2026 are eligible to participate.

B) In the Senior Category, dancers who are at least 18 (eighteen) years old by 8 November 2026 are eligible to participate.

C) In the Professional Category, dancers who are between 23 (twenty-three) and 27 (twenty-seven) years old by 8 November 2026 are eligible to participate.

1.3. Candidates must submit their applications by completing the form available on the official website and providing the following documents and materials:

  • Link to the video of the Classical Variation and/or Contemporary Solo (via YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive);
  • High-quality headshot;
  • High-quality artistic photograph.

Note: Candidates may compete with a Classical Variation and/or a Contemporary Solo. They may compete with both works or with only one.

1.4. The results of the candidates selected for the Final in London will be announced by 2 November 2026.

1.5. All candidates will receive an email informing them of the outcome of their application. Selected candidates will receive an Invitation Letter by email containing the necessary information regarding their participation in the Final in London.

1.6. The selection process will consist of the presentation and evaluation of the video material submitted as part of the application. The Classical Variation and Contemporary Solo videos will be assessed.

2. Video Recording

The Prix Osipova values the individuality of every artist. Therefore, the video recording should not only demonstrate the required technical content but should also reflect each candidate’s freedom of artistic expression and individual interpretation.

The candidate must submit the link(s) to the video recording(s) corresponding to the work(s) entered:

2.1. Classical Variation: the duration must correspond to the full length of the work (YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive link).

  • The video title must include: the candidate’s name, age, country, title of the choreography, choreographer and composer.
  • The video must be recorded in its entirety. Cuts and/or editing are not permitted.

2.2. Contemporary Solo: maximum duration of 3 (three) minutes (YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive link).

  • The video title must include: the candidate’s name, age, country, title of the choreography, choreographer and composer.
  • The video must be recorded in its entirety. Cuts and/or editing are not permitted.

2.3. The Classical Variation and Contemporary Solo videos must be recorded in the same location, with appropriate lighting, either in a studio or on stage, and in landscape orientation.

2.4. The videos must have been recorded in 2026. Videos of performances before an audience will not be accepted. No brands, logos or advertising elements may be visible in the video footage.

2.5. Pointe work is mandatory for female candidates aged 14 (fourteen) or over, based on their age on the date of the Competition.

2.6. Only variations from the classical repertoire for which the necessary copyright permissions are available will be accepted. Free reinterpretations, substantial adaptations or works inspired by classical variations will not be accepted, nor will versions subject to reserved copyright restrictions.

Note: Before selecting the repertoire, candidates must verify the availability of the necessary copyright permissions.

3. Attire

3.1. Classical Variation and Contemporary Solo (Male and Female): Candidates must wear a complete costume of their own choice and are responsible for selecting appropriate attire. We recommend a clean and simple costume that is consistent with the artistic concept of the work being presented.

4. Competition Procedure

4.1. The Competition will consist of a preliminary video selection stage, followed by a second stage consisting of an in-person performance at the Grand Final in London.

4.2. The official programme will be determined by the Competition Organisation. Changes to the repertoire or programme will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances, subject to a formal request and prior approval by the General Direction.

4.3. The Jury will assess each candidate individually within their respective category, based on the same repertoire submitted by video, corresponding to the discipline(s) selected at the time of application: Classical Variation, Contemporary Solo, or both.

4.4. All candidates must perform the same repertoire submitted at the time of application.

4.5. Candidates selected through the video selection stage will join those selected through the Latin America and Cambridge editions.

4.6. All stages of the Competition may be photographed, filmed, recorded and broadcast live. Such material may subsequently be reproduced, published and made available by Prix Osipova through any media, digital platforms, audio and video channels, as well as promotional or institutional materials related to the event.

5. Financial Conditions

5.1. The application fee for all categories is €85 (eighty-five euros). Payment must be made upon completion of the application form through the Stripe platform to the account of Bloom Dance Project LTD.

5.2. The application will only be considered valid once payment has been confirmed. All application fees are final and non-refundable.

5.3. Once the application has been completed and payment confirmed, no full or partial refund will be issued, including in cases of withdrawal, inability to travel, health-related issues, visa-related issues, scheduling conflicts or any other personal circumstances affecting the participant.

Note: Completion of the application constitutes full acceptance of this policy.

6. Awards

The Organisation may award up to 15 (fifteen) places, but is not limited to this number, among all applicants for the PRIX OSIPOVA Grand Final at the Royal Opera House in London.

7. General and Final Provisions

7.1. For participants under the age of 18, the application must be completed by their parent or legal guardian.

7.2. By submitting an application, the participant and/or their legal guardian declares that they have read, understood and fully accepted all provisions set out in these Regulations and agree to comply with the rules and procedures established by the Competition Organisation.

7.3. By submitting an application, the participant and/or their legal guardian grants, free of charge, authorisation for the use of the participant’s image, voice, name and audiovisual recordings produced during the event for institutional, promotional, educational and publicity purposes relating to the PRIX OSIPOVA.

7.4. Participants and/or their legal guardians agree to: fully comply with these Regulations; attend at the times established by the Organisation; provide accurate and truthful information; treat other participants, Jury members and members of the organising team with respect; and maintain conduct appropriate to the artistic and professional environment of the event.

7.5. The following may result in disqualification: providing false information; failure to comply with these Regulations; inappropriate conduct; and copyright infringement.

7.6. Any matters or circumstances not expressly provided for in these Regulations shall be reviewed and decided by the General Direction of the PRIX OSIPOVA, whose decisions shall be final.
